Iceland. Winter. Part I

Kirkjufell Mountain & Neighborhood

·

This famous and most photographed mountain is located in Snæfellsnes peninsula.
You may remember it by some episodes in ‘Game Of Thrones.

Kirkjufell, or 'Church Mountain’, has its iconic shape so it’s easy to recognize it from every point of view. However, the most famous view pint is near the Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall.

Horses
·

Horses of Iceland are unique pony-sized super-cute animals. They have 2 extra gaits besides walk,
trot and gallop — tölt and flying pace.

Although you can still find them in Europe and North America as well, the ones in Iceland are truly unique. Icelandic law prevents the horses from being imported and even exported animals
are not allowed to return back home.

Snæfellsjökull National Park
·

Snæfellsjökull National Park got the name from its crowning glacier and volcano,
which is surrounded by Buðahraun lava field.

Nature in the park is mesmerizing. Another point is a Djúpalónssandur. It’s an arched-shaped bay of dark cliffs and black sand. The waves of the Atlantic Ocean wash the shore and fascinate with their rebelness.
